Sydney-based Bernie Quinn has sung professionally for over 16 years, performing both classical and contemporary repertoire. Bernie holds a Bachelor of Music with Honours and a Post Graduate Diploma in Vocal Pedagogy. She has studied with master teachers in Australia, Germany, Switzerland and New York. | |
Trained as a classical soprano, Bernie specialises in English art song, German lied, French melodie and oratorio. As a classical artist, she is highly sought after to sing at both weddings and funerals throughout Australia. In 2008, Bernie had the privilege of performing for His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI during Sydney’s World Youth Day.
As a contemporary artist, Bernie performs for corporate and private functions with her jazz band Quinntessential and other prominent jazz musicians from Sydney. Alongside her music, Bernie is a passionate advocate for youth in the community. She has co-ordinated leadership forums in Sydney, Canberra and Hobart, and has helped to organise motivational programs for disadvantaged youth. In 2004, she was a finalist in the Young Tasmanian of the Year Awards. Bernie currently divides her time between performing and teaching. |
